There were no baggage delays on this flight.

Comments on the check-in staff and any issues:

There were no problems. It was a smooth flight.

Comments regarding the pre-meal service:


None. Passengers had to pay for the food. The good old days of getting free food on some European flights has disappeared.

Comments regarding the first meal:


None. Passengers had to buy the food, and the prices are a bit on the expensive side. Nevertheless, for such a short flight there was no need for in-flight meals. Flying without getting complimentary in-flight meals is just not the same experience as used to be (irrespective of how long the flight is).

Comments of professionalism of the cabin crew:

Very professional and polite.

Any incidents:

While we on final approach to London Heathrow, we must have been around a mile from touchdown (I could easily see the M4 motorway), when we suddenly heard a loud thud and the plane start climbing again! It was a missed approach which means that for whatever reason the Pilot decided to abort the landing and go around to try once more. It took around 10 minutes for to go around London and come back again to make a safe landing second time around. According to the Captain, we were too close to the aircraft in front so we had to abort the landing at the last minute.

Comments on the interior of the aircraft (including seat comfort): 

The interior of all Aer Lingus aircraft is in the national colours of light and dark green- Emerald would the correct word to use. The Shamrock is displayed on all seat covers.

Punctuality of the flight:

Yes, there was a delay of around 15 minutes because of heavy morning traffic at Heathrow. However the Captain made up the time in this short flight. Also, I nearly missed the flight! I had to run after checking in at the last minute (this has been my bad habit I think!)

Any baggage issues: 

There were no baggage delays on this flight.

Comments on the check-in staff and any issues:

The check-in staff were kind to let me through at the last minute, considering that I nearly missed the flight. But later once I got to the gate I found out that the flight was delayed anyways!

    This is a special section on airline branding and public relations, based on flights I have personally experienced. These are not second-hand accounts; they reflect my own journeys.

    Many of these trips were officially sponsored by airlines to promote specific routes or aircraft. Airline promotion and PR in the aviation industry is one of my areas of expertise.

    Over time, this section will expand to include detailed reviews of in-flight meals, seating, overall comfort, and customer service, both at the check-in desk and from cabin crew.

    All reviews are honest, fair, and unbiased. I have had the privilege of working with some of the world’s leading PR agencies and most prominent airline brands, including Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Air China, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, TAP Air Portugal, Air Malta, Air France, KLM, CityJet, and many others. All flights I have taken since 2003 are documented here. Earlier flights—such as Syrian Airlines (747SP in 1985), British Airways to Dubai (2003), Aeroflot IL-62 and IL-86 (1989), among others—were not recorded at the time, which I now regret.

    My aim is to bring to life the joy of reviewing airlines and sharing the full experience of air travel.
